POSITIVE

SOCIAL IMPACT

We believe the private sector can and should play a more active role in fostering positive social impact, together with communities, civil society, and municipal, state, and federal governments. Our approach is to actively collaborate with all stakeholders to build solutions together.

POSITIVE Impact

We work with local communities to build robust and constructive trust-based relations.

We deeply care for our people, our land, and our culture, and our purpose runs in our DNA. We understand our industry’s existing legacy and are committed to doing things better, capitalizing on local and international partnerships, and creating a positive local impact.

The following principles uphold our community engagement:

  1. Establish trust and proactively build relations
  2. Share accurate and timely project information
  3. Assess social impact and community needs ahead of operations
  4. Build respectful and effective communication channels that encourage community participation and engagement
  5. Respond to questions, concerns, and complaints
  6. Participate in community life
  7. Respect, learn and follow local protocols
  8. Ask for permission – we do not take, nor assume
  9. We offer fair compensation
  10. Hire locally whenever locals can do the work
